This first session focuses on creating a classroom environment that supports and encourages student writing from day one. This session sets the instructional foundation for future LEUSD Writes! learning throughout the series.

LEUSD Writes! (Launch) 3rd - 5th Grade and Special Education Teachers Day 2 of 2 (PAID)
Join us for a two-day launch of LEUSD Writes!, focused on practical, evidence-based writing instruction that helps students take ownership of their work. This session will model a structured process students can use to lead themselves through writing—from generating ideas to revising with purpose.

Through hands-on learning, teachers will experience the process as learners and apply it directly to their own classroom content. Leave with clear routines and tools to support more independent, capable writers.

This launch is just the beginning. Ongoing professional learning will support teachers as we continue this work across the three writing genres in elementary.

This PEARSON training is intended specifically for RSP and SDC case managers.

This 6-hour session covers the administration and scoring of the WAIT-4 subtests and basic interpretation of the results. Using sample data, lecture, and demonstration, the presenters will describe how WIAT-4 results are used to make diagnostic decisions and to identify instructional recommendations.

Lunch will be provided.
