Join us for a two-day launch of LEUSD Writes!, focused on practical, evidence-based writing instruction that helps students take ownership of their work. This session will model a structured process students can use to lead themselves through writing—from generating ideas to revising with purpose.
Through hands-on learning, teachers will experience the process as learners and apply it directly to their own classroom content. Leave with clear routines and tools to support more independent, capable writers.
This launch is just the beginning. Ongoing professional learning will support teachers as we continue this work across the three writing genres in elementary.

Participants will learn how to implement the Picture Word Strategy and Shared Writing to strengthen oral language, vocabulary, sentence development, and early writing success in meaningful and accessible ways.
